Road Trip – 28 to 30 Sep 2018

This weekend, against better judgement, I decided to use the remainder of the money I saved to help with expenses during my self-imposed semi-employment to take a road-trip with the only person I have ever loved, and by the looks of things, that I will ever love. In the 2000+ kilometres travelled I learned forgiveness, learning to let go and the inconvenient truth that sometimes, love just isn’t enough. I also wrote a bad poem and took some pictures.

The bad poem:

the CEO of
dying inside is at
it again on the road
wilding

a wingless eagle hopscotching
its way to the coast hoping
the welds on the beams keep intact
long enough for it to see
the amber of the sun dipping
& the froth of the waves encroaching

the CEO of
dying inside is at
it again on the road
wilding

running away from his troubles again
wondering if the dead stares on
the strangers bed or the
meaningless consummation will ever fill
the ever widening hole in
his ever blackening heart

the CEO of
dying inside is at
again
wilding.
dying.
