Broughton, 12 April 1831: A poem by Aquilar L. Monnatlala

thirty-seven rugged boots in unison
stomping one two one two
four abreast marching forth
resonant vibration; one bolt snapped
cannonball shot sound echoed all around

beams snapped and chaos reigned
loose chains and loose limbs
free-falling like loose leaves
the shallow Irwell red with
wounded men in military green
