Oh crap, it’s spam disguised as fan mail

Many people are under the false impression that this blog is very popular -I know it is currently number 64 on amatomu but that’s because I’ve managed to cheat the system- and as a result, I’m being bombarded with spam from people wanting me to blogroll them. Initially i was amused that people thought that this blog was so great that my blogrolling them would increase traffic to their blogs but after a while I get a little annoyed by getting the same e-mail from different people asking me for a link exchange( the audacity of hope) like this morning for example, I didn’t have anything to do so I checked my mail and this was what I received from ” A new blogger”:

Hi AQUILOGY my name is (New blogger) and I have to say that I absolutely love your blog, I love your sense of humour and your writing style after reading your blog I was inspired to start my own blog. I’m still new at this so would you please read my blog at Newblogger.blogspot.com and give me pointers and feedback If you like what you read we could exchange links. Your opinion would be highly appreciated
-New blogger

The above e-mail pisses me off for the following reasons 1) My precious time is being wasted on pretentious messages from people who don’t understand that the only true way to increase traffic to your site is to write good stories not sending mails to random people telling them how much you love them and blah blah blah Link exchange 2) The person writing this is dumb enough to think that I would blogroll someone based on the fact that they love me 3) I’m forced to read their blogs and more often than not they turn out to be very bad.

So if you were planning to send me spam disguised as fan mail, save both of us the trouble because pressing the delete button isn’t that difficult for me.
